Update My SEO is operated by Level 16 Media LLC (Denver, Colorado). This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who processes it, and your choices. It covers updatemyseo.com, the customer dashboard, and the blogs we host for customers.
What we collect

We use Google Analytics (GA4) on updatemyseo.com to understand traffic and usage, via cookies and similar technology. Google Analytics is configured with Google signals, which lets Google associate this data with the Google Account activity of visitors who are signed in and have turned on ad personalization, so we can see aggregated demographics and interests. You can turn this off for yourself anytime in your Google Account's Ad Settings, or opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We do not run our own advertising trackers, do not sell personal information, and do not use Google Analytics data to build our own ad-targeting audiences.
How we use it
To provide the Service you signed up for, bill you, send the emails you have turned on, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and improve the product. Article generation uses AI models: your business profile, article briefs, and previously published titles are sent to our AI provider to write each article. Support assistant conversations are sent to the same provider to answer you.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of vetted service providers (sub-processors) to run the Service. By category:

Every provider is bound by contractual privacy and data-processing terms. A current list of our sub-processors is available on request at help@updatemyseo.com.
Photos you add to your image library
Photos you upload, and photos you ask us to find on your own website, are stored in your account so we can use them in your articles. We re-save each one as a plain image, which removes any location or camera information embedded in it. Photos from your website are only fetched when you click Find photos on my website, and you can remove any photo at any time. Removing it deletes our copy.
Google user data (Search Console)
If you choose Connect Google, we ask Google for read-only access to your Search Console data (webmasters.readonly). We read the list of sites you have verified and, for the site you pick, its search performance: queries, pages, impressions, clicks and average position. We cannot change anything in your Google account or in Search Console. We store an encrypted access token for the connection, never your Google password.
We use this data only to show it to you inside your own dashboard and to suggest improvements to your own site. We do not sell it, share it with other customers, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. You can disconnect any time under Site & publishing, which deletes the stored token and tells Google to revoke our access, or from your Google Account's third-party access page.
Update My SEO's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where your data lives
United States. If you use the Service from outside the US you consent to your data being processed in the US.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, articles, support conversations, and uploaded documents are deleted from our systems within 30 days; billing records are retained as required for tax and accounting (typically 7 years). Backups roll off within 30 days after deletion.
Your choices and rights
- Change your name, email, password, and notification settings under Account.
- Delete your account under Account (Delete account). Articles published into your own platform stay where they are; a blog we host comes down within 30 days.
- Export your articles any time from the dashboard (Articles, Export all). To export or correct anything else we hold, email help@updatemyseo.com. We respond within 30 days.
- California, Colorado, and EU/UK residents have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection). We honor them for everyone. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and protect against abuse, and Google Analytics cookies to understand site usage (see "What we collect" above for how Google Analytics is configured). No advertising cookies of our own.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers, access is restricted per customer account, and secrets are never stored in code. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you we will notify you without undue delay.
Changes
We will post updates here and, for material changes, email you.
