Bing Webmaster Tools and Microsoft Clarity: what each is for

Webmaster Tools shows how Bing sees your site. Clarity records how visitors use it. They are different tools.

  1. 1

For Bing Webmaster Tools, sign in at bing.com/webmasters and choose Import from Google Search Console. It verifies your site in one step.

  2. 2

For Microsoft Clarity, create a free project at clarity.microsoft.com for your website.

  3. 3

To add Clarity to your blog, add its tracking code through Google Tag Manager and put your Tag Manager ID in Site and publishing.

Bing Webmaster Tools is Bing's version of Search Console. It shows which of your pages Bing has found and what people searched. We already tell Bing about every new article through IndexNow, so you do not need it for indexing. It is useful for seeing how Bing treats your site.

Microsoft Clarity is free and records how visitors move through your pages (heatmaps and session recordings). It helps you see where people drop off. It does not affect your search rankings.

They link together: Clarity can show its data inside Bing Webmaster Tools, but you can use either one on its own.
