Local presence page: what it is and what we do and do not do
A checklist of listings to claim beyond Google. Only you can claim them, so we guide and track.
What it is. A checklist of the business listings worth claiming beyond Google: Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, Yellow Pages and Bing Webmaster Tools.
Why we show it. Search engines and AI assistants cross-check these listings to decide whether you are one real, local business. Bing feeds Copilot, DuckDuckGo and ChatGPT search, and Apple Maps pulls from Apple Business Connect and Yelp. Matching details everywhere build trust, and a missing or wrong listing can contradict your website.
Where the numbers come from.
- Your business details: What you enter at the top of this page. Every listing should use exactly these. When you save them.
- The done ticks and profile links: Only what you enter. These platforms do not let anyone claim a listing for you, so each one needs you to verify it. We do not contact them and cannot check them for you. When you save.
- Your blog's markup: Saved profile links, and your street address once your business details are complete, are added to the structured data on your blog so search engines can see the connection. Within a minute or two of saving.
If it looks empty.
- Nothing is ticked: Everything starts unticked, because only you can claim and verify these listings. There is nothing for us to fill in.
- A link is rejected: Each link has to be the https address of your profile on that platform, such as a yelp.com address for Yelp.
